In the episode "Daddy's Little Monster," it is revealed that some of Hunson's powers originate from his Nightosphere amulet , which endows its wearer with supernatural powers and also apparently fills them with chaotic evil. The latter seems to happen to Marceline, although she was not prepared for the effects of the amulet, whereas Finn had an idea of what to expect and thus was able to resist its dangerous effects upon wearing it.

Hunson is Marceline's biological father. They have had a consistently strained relationship since Marceline's childhood, culminating in him eating her fries when she was a pre-teen, whereafter Marceline felt that he didn't care about her. Hunson would eventually be imprisoned in the Nightosphere and Marceline wouldn't talk to him until the events of " It Came from the Nightosphere ," which occurred presumably many hundreds of years after the incident with the fries.

Their relationship begins to heal when Finn plays Marceline's heartfelt Fry Song out loud. Hunson and his daughter have a tender moment where they affirm their love for each other before Finn traps him back in the Nightosphere. Hunson wishes for Marceline to take over the Nightosphere from him in " Return to the Nightosphere. He admits that he is proud of Marceline as she is. In this episode, Hunson calls Marceline "baby" endearingly. Furthermore, his personality in this appearance is markedly different.

He appears to be much more casual and docile. This change is possibly due to his greatly improved relationship with his daughter, suggesting that his previous callousness was influenced by bitterness towards Marceline. Marceline also now visits him in the Nightosphere. Yet, Hunson is a somewhat neglectful parent. In the full version of Marceline's fry song , there exist the lyrics; "Daddy, why did you leave me, You created me, So don't you wanna see me?

A young Marceline is seen mouthing the word "Dada" as she cries in the flashback that concludes " I Remember You. In " Everything Stays ," Simon, who has almost transformed into the Ice King permanently and is thus leaving to isolate himself, assures a young Marceline that he has arranged for someone else to take care of her.

In a flashback, it is shown that he had re-entered her life after their long separation by smashing a hole in the young Marceline's hut with the family battle axe.

He then announces that he was summoned by "some goober with glasses" and that he and Marceline should "go suck some souls together," before destroying an entire wall of the hut.

Marceline is shocked and repelled by Hunson's reckless obliviousness to her struggle for survival in the post-Mushroom War world.

This flashback sheds light on Marceline's deeply hurt reaction to his act of eating her fries in his debut episode many seasons prior; the pre-teen Marceline was not yet a vampire and needed to eat, whereas the deathless demon Hunson has no need to.

Yet, he carelessly ate her fries when she needed any food she could get to stay alive in the post-apocalyptic world. This incident appears to embody Marceline's long-held grievance that Hunson didn't care about her survival. It is possible that Hunson's thoughtless actions that caused Marceline's upset as well as his general lack of social awareness and empathy is due to his status as a powerful, immortal demon who has lived for countless millennia.

Marceline is a comparatively new addition to his life, and although he certainly loves her, he may not quite understand what parental responsibility, or simply caring for a living being, actually entails. This could be made especially worse by the absence of Marceline's human mother to aid him. In the present day, after his powers have been negated by Peppermint Butler , Hunson tries spending some time with Marceline while in Ooo, but only manages to wreck her solo concert that night. However, he aids in stopping an attack by Chicle, and urges Marceline and the others to admit that he's "bad but not all bad.

Finn freed Marceline's father from the Nightosphere so that Marceline could have closure with him. He was under the impression that Finn was Marceline's "evil servant," but upon learning that Finn is "super good," quickly attempted to steal Finn's soul.

Hunson then took back his old weapon he left with Marcelino in the wreckage; Marceline's guitar and, using it as a battle axe, stole souls throughout the Land of Ooo. When Marceline's father came to his senses, Finn was able to lock him back in the Nightosphere. Despite this, in " Daddy's Little Monster ," he thinks Finn is cool and doesn't want any hard feelings between them.

Concerning Finn and Jake , he tells Marceline that "they're all right. And that political rap? Marshalia youngest daughter Rose Abadeer wife. Hunson Abadeer a. In " It Came from the Nightosphere ," he is freed from the Nightosphere by Finn , who believed that Marceline and her father should be together. Hunson initially shared a shaky parent-to-teen relationship with Marceline that involved an evil rampage throughout Ooo , sucking the souls of many creatures such as the Fuzzy Friends , the Marauders , Hot Dog Princess , numerous ants, most of the penguins in the Ice Kingdom , and some Tree People.

He was ultimately defeated by Finn, who released all of the captured souls and sealed the deathless being back into the Nightosphere. Hunson managed to reaffirm his love for Marceline just before leaving. He probably has not been out of the Nightosphere for some time because when he finds out that Marceline turned the family axe into a bass he asks, "Did you turn it into some kind of a lute". He appears briefly in " Memory of a Memory ," in which he is seen eating his daughter's fries which he later says were cold in the episode "It Came From The Nightosphere".

The incident that caused a rift in their relationship and led to Marceline writing her " Fry Song. He reappears in " Daddy's Little Monster ," trying to trick Marceline into taking over the Nightosphere.

He also shows care for things he deems evil; on the animatic, it shows that he is commenting and observing how Gunter is the. Gunter, the Ice King , Marceline, Jake because he was in Finn's pocket , and Finn were the only souls that were spared during his rampage through Ooo. However, he is not completely emotionless, as he is apparently moved by hearing his daughter's song. He also confirmed that he loves Marceline, and that he was deeply sorry he ate her fries, never meaning to hurt her.

This also seems to have changed his personality, as even with the Nightosphere Amulet on, he is far less evil than before, implying that this was a result of the fry argument he and Marceline had. While he is far 'nicer' than before, he may only act so to Marceline, Finn and Jake.

Exemplified by the video in "Daddys Little Monster," before he realized who Jake was he was quick to act hostile toward him. He also seems to have a sense of humor in which he threatens the Marauders in the form of a joke and plays along with their leader's response, calling himself their "Mama. Hunson appears to care for Marsha as his last daughter. In "The Secret Sister," he seems to "middle-name" Marsha when she's in trouble.

However, many parents "middle-name" their children. He also uses "sweetie" as an endeerment for Marsha. He seems to use only the word "sweetie" the most. He never calls Marsha by "baby" or even "honey. With Marceline, it seems rather the same. Also according to Marsha, Hunson slaps Marceline in her sleep.

He uses different endearments for Marceline than only one. He is first shown exiting the Nightosphere as a mass of tentacles, eyeballs, intestines, and various other like.
