The film will feature The Furies as the main villains and Darksied may make his first live-action debut also. The story will focus on the squad going on a mission to the Middle East to stop Onslaught and infiltrate their headquarters in Qurac.
Filming is expected to film on September 9th in Atlanta. There will also be a lot of the movie set on Krypton. Kind of a raw deal for Scott, all things considered, but no one bothered to give him a choice in the matter. Life on Apokolips was, unsurprisingly, miserable. Scott wasn't cared for by Darkseid himself, but given to Granny Goodness, one of Apokolips' master torturers, where he was subjected to a basically endless amount of cruelty day in and day out.
But he wasn't alone. Barda, an Apokolips native and one of Granny's "Female Furies" in training, was stuck enduring the endless sadism right alongside him. Maybe "stuck in a never-ending cycle of torture and pain" isn't the most traditional romantic meetcute, but apparently it worked for them. Scott and Barda grew up and fell in love, despite their horrific circumstances, and planned to make their escape from the Fourth World all together.
The thing about Scott and Barda's love story isn't how unlikely it was, it's how perfect it wound up being for both of them. They eventually found their way to Earth which, wound up nullifying the truce and reigniting the war, but that's a whole other story to live as part-time superheroes in Los Angeles where they were married, settled down and eventually even had a child. All told, it's a pretty mundane story for two New Gods, and that's why it works.
Neither of them ever asked to be put into the situations they were born into, they never got much of a choice when it came to their families or their histories. But they did get to choose each other and how their lives together would proceed from there. It's almost a Romeo and Juliet story, without the suicide and tragedy at the end. Scott and Barda are two people who should have never worked out, but inexplicably did, and are very much the better for it.
After an unexpected visit of her mother, Big Breeda, on New York, Highfather offered Scott to return to New Genesis and find his true heritage, and Barda followed her husband.
During this period, the couple separated briefly due to Scott's lack of consideration for her feelings. Takion predicted that the Earth faced a grave threat. Their mission: to help mobilize Earth's heroes against the omnipotent Mageddon. Barda was in the Suicide Slums in Metropolis when she had her purse snatched. The mugger, who got away, was later killed by an Apokoliptan Ash-Crawler , who brought the purse to the depraved, disgusting, and evil, Sleez.
Sleez then found Barda's Mega-Rod in the purse and used it against her when she came for it. Two days later, he forced Barda to wear a very short and skimpy outfit, barefoot and seemingly topless, and dance and perform implied sexual favors for him, while he filmed it all. Just when he was about to rape Barda, Superman arrived and tossed Sleez aside, helping Barda up from the floor, seeing as she had been forced to dance for quite awhile.
Superman asked who she was, and if she was Wonder Woman under all the make-up. Brad took the distraction to grab the Mega-Rod and blast Superman repeatedly with it. Barda, who thought Superman was just another part in Sleez' scheme, almost killed Superman. But before she could act, Sleez took the Rod from Barda and dropped them both in a pit. Darkseid's agents somehow got ahold of the tape and Darkseid showed it to Mister Miracle. Mister Miracle then went to find Barda who was, along with Superman, being controlled by Sleez forced to make an 'adult movie' with Superman.
Mister Miracle arrived, and Superman went after Sleez, who seemingly perished in an explosion. Barda demands to go with them, looking to spit on Darkseid's face, but Superman refuses on grounds that the presence of non-Kryptonian heroes would give Darkseid an excuse to retaliate against Earth. Later, Barda accepts an invitation from Oracle to become the heavy-hitter on the Birds of Prey.
In a confrontation with the Secret Six , she engages Knockout , another ex-Fury, in hand-to-hand combat. Although the fight was long and was continued above all other worries, it ended in a draw.
