How many static line jumps

In this two day, six hour course, you will be taught and be required to demonstrate the skills necessary to perform a skydive by yourself. These skills include:. At the end of the course, you will be ready to make your first jump under the watchful eye of our United States Parachute Association USPA certified instructors. At approximately 3, ft, you will be attached to the airplane by a static line. As you let go of the airplane, the static line will deploy your parachute.

Once your parachute is open, an instructor will guide you to the ground via a radio in your helmet. Your training will provide you with the confidence to make your first skydive a safe and thrilling experience! Once back on the ground, you may be able to make another jump if time allows after everyone has gone once. You are welcome to hang around the DZ, observe the experienced jumpers in the natural habitat, and join us at Joe Snuffy's or La Fiesta afterwards.

Typically the class starts off on a Friday evening in a classroom setting, continues the following Saturday morning at the airport for hands-on-practical training, and finishes Saturday afternoon when you land safely from your first skydive.

We schedule classes at the beginning of every college semester as well as a couple classes during the summer months. Should the interest arise, we can also organize a special class for large groups who wish to take the course together. All skydiving equipment has a maximum allowable weight and student gear has a maximum weight that keeps the student at or below lbs.

You have to factor in your weight as you exit the plane and that includes your weight and the weight of the equipment. We do not exceed the manufacturers weight requirements for any reason. And yes is too much you have to be or less to make a static line skydive. You will be weighed when you check in.

If you are over the weight limit you will not be allowed to take the class and your deposit will be forfeited. Tennis shoes are recommended.

Although it might see logical to wear sturdy hiking boots, if they have hooks on them they pose a safety issue. The temperature drops as we climb to jump altitude.

It is recommended to wear jeans and a sweatshirt on cooler days. Shorts and a tee-shirt on warmer days. We provide you with a jumpsuit to cover you clothes. Long hair must be tied up before the jump for your safety. We will provide a helmet to wear for added protection.

Piercings beyond the normal ear types are fine. We recommend that you remove any other body piercings before the jump. There are 8 categories to progress through in the system. Cat 3 " D ummy P ulls". Cat 4 Freefall. Cat 5 2 consecutive 10 second delays counting and maintaining a heading. Cat 6 2 consecutive 15 second delays using the above skills plus an altimeter.
